It’s the beginning of a new year and with a new beginning comes a new season of anime! The Winter 2019 anime lineup looks to be pretty deep, with quite a few shows I’m looking forward to starting and falling behind and never finishing. It’s the effort that counts right? So here’s a list of some stuff I wanna watch this winter.

The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland)

The Promised Neverland

Everyone seems to love this manga, and I signed up for Viz Media’s Shonen Jump so I could read this one. Based on what I’ve been hearing about the manga, this show is at the top of my list. It’s about an orphanage that is raising kids so that they can become demon food. Of course, there’s more to the story, but ya got me interested already. I want those kids to be free and not become demon food. It begins airing on January 11th.

Revisions (revisions リヴィジョンズ)

Revisions Anime Netflix

This looks to be pretty generic, but I’m a sucker for mobile suits in any anime. A group of 5 kids gets transported 300 years into the future where they have to fight these giant mechanical monsters called “revisions”. The poster looks bloody, so maybe there’s gonna be a good amount of gore? Who knows? I’ll at least watch the first 4 episodes, but I’m looking forward to it and hope it beats my expectations. Revisions starts on January 10th.

Dororo

Dororo

A FATHER GIVES HIS SON’S ORGANS TO 48 DEMONS BUT THE SON LIVES AND IS NOW HUNTING 48 DEMONS WITH LETHAL PROSTHETICS. Sign me the fuck up. There’s a thief involved too. This one starts on January 7th.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly

Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie

I know this isn’t a show, and technically aired in December, but I live in America and I can’t go see this until January 17th. Needless to say, I’m super excited for this. From the new art style for the movie to seeing Broly and Gogeta become canon characters, there’s a lot to look forward to for DBZ fans like myself. I even started a rewatch of all the DBZ movies. A lot of them are very bad. However, many are saying this is the best DBZ movie to date. So support anime on the big screen. Get a ticket, take some friends. Go see this movie.

I’ll probably watch some other shows this season, but these 4 are on my “must watch” list. I’m hoping for there to be some surprise gems like Zombieland Saga and Release the Spyce from last season.
